New favorite blog site...

I came across this blog site by Keri Smith called The Wish Jar. I instantlyly tuned into her personal style and the books she authors, such as Wreck this Journal. They are interactive and FUN..FUN...FUN... I am going to put them on my wish list. The non-planner is my first choice

Pages from my art journal...

I have been journaling regularly.  My favorite piece right now is the 'Defining Me' page.  It is also a work in progress as I have been defining and re-defining myself these past five (5) five! years since treatment began for breast cancer in July of 2003.  I think I'll work on the next page today as I have had some reconstructive surgery 3 weeks ago and the image of myself has changed, both internally as well as externally.  

The only thing constant in life is change and if you're not changing...you're not growing.

It has taken me a while to find my groove but I think I've got it.  Art makes me happy, my journal has become my happy place, my refuge.  In December I committed to making art every day and so far I've ben pretty consistent.  Now I have to commit to blogging on a regular basis.  Anyway, here are some of pages....

Learning to use a scanner...

This morning I spent hours learning how to scan, find and upload images. I am making progress! I am having difficulty now adding an image to my post but will keep trying. It took a while but I finally got it, Make Art...bee happy!

Today's the day...

Today is the day I start blogging! I set up the account weeks ago and everytime I go to write something I sit staring at the screen. Though I am proficient in computer use a blog is something so new to me it scares me. Anyway, today's the day! I am even going to try to post some of my art journal pages, I'll probably need my daughter's help.

This is my first art journal entry, December 25, 2007. I bought myself a moleskin journal, some watercolor pencils and cut out snowmen from wrapping paper and cards and started to create. I'll post the completed page and all pages thereafter later.
